শাহজালাল বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আইপি বিভাগের ২০০১-০২ সেশনের সাবেক শিক্ষার্থী ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সংগঠন সুপা'র সাবেক সভাপতি "মো: অনিক ইসলাম", দুরারোগ্য ফুসফুসের (Metastasis) ক্যান্সারে আক্রান্ত হয়ে চিকিৎসাধীন। গতবছর তার কিডনিতে টিউমার ধরা পড়ার পর জরুরি ভিত্তিতে ইউনাইটেড হাসপাতালে সার্জারীর মাধ্যেম বাম পাশের কিডনিসহ টিউমার ফেলে দেয়া হয়। এ বছরের (২০২৩) জুলাই মাসে তার ফুসফুসে ক্যান্সারের উপস্থিতি পাওয়া যায় এবং এর চিকিৎসা হিসেবে চেন্নাইয়ের এপোলো হাসপাতালে ডঃ টি. রাজা (সিনিয়র কনসালটেন্ট, অনকোলজি) এর তত্ত্বাবধানে ইমিউনিথেরাপি শুরু করতে হয়েছে, যা যথেষ্ট ব্যয়সাধ্য। অনিক ইসলামের অন্যকোন ধরণের সমস্যা না থাকায়, ডাক্তার ইমিউনিথেরাপির ব্যাপারে অনেক আশাবাদী। এ্যাপোলো হাসপাতালের চিকিৎসা অনুযায়ী ১৬ ডোজ ইমিউনিথেরাপি দিতে প্রায় ১ কোটি টাকা খরচ হতে পারে। ০৬ টি ডোজের খরচ তার পরিবার ম্যানেজ করেছে, বাকী ১০ টি ডোজের জন্য আগামী ৩ মাসের মধ্যে ৬৫ লক্ষ টাকা প্রয়োজন। মধ্যবিত্ত পরিবারের জন্য তার সার্জারি,ফলোআপ চিকিৎসা ও এখন ইমিউনিথেরাপির মতো এতো ব্যায়বহুল চিকিৎসার খরচ চালানো অত্যন্ত কষ্টসাধ্য। সকলের আন্তরিক সহযোগিতার মাধ্যমে অনিক ইসলাম সুস্থ হয়ে আমাদের মাঝে ফিরে আসুক। এই কামনা করছি।

Anik Islam, an IPE Engineer, a photographer, a father, a son, a loving husband currently living in Dhaka, Bangladesh and fighting a lethal disease - Cancer. He (kid on lap) is still strong, both mentally and physically. He is suffering from stage 4 lung cancer, which has been metastasised (cancer spread to distant locations from origin). Last year he had cancer in his kidney and he had to lose his left one. Doctors are very hopeful that Anik will survive if he goes through the immunotherapy courses (16 doses) as Anik's situation was caught early enough (so far Anik has 7 cancer spots in his lung). His next scheduled follow up is on Nov 09, 2023. Anik badly needs your help. I've talked to Anik, his mom and close friends (who are actively working to help Anik). Financially the situation is way behind. Total cost of treatment is 10M BDT, so far they have arranged 3.5M BDT. Anik still needs 6.5M BDT which is not a cup of tea for a middle class family like Anik's. Therefore, our earnest request, members of this group to come forward and donate for Anik's treatment.
